How the Internet Works

The Internet is like a huge network that connects millions of computers all over the world so they can share information.
When you visit a website, your device sends a request through your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to the website’s server.
The server then sends the information (web pages, images, videos, etc.) back to your device.

Key points to understand:

  1. Devices & Connections – Your phone or computer connects to the internet using cables, Wi-Fi, or mobile data.

  2. IP Addresses – Every device on the internet has a unique “address” called an IP address so data knows where to go.

  3. Servers – Special computers that store websites and send them to you when you request them.

  4. Browsers – Apps like Chrome or Firefox that display web pages in a readable format.

  5. Data Transfer – Information travels in small packets through various networks until it reaches your device.
